Which Size is Better?
May be this question have striken you harder when looking those Sizes.
For instance if some one asks you..in which room you will be more comfortable congested room or Spacious room?
Obviously the answer would be Spacious.
same with Fishes too.. they love to swim a lot..hence forth they really need large Aquariums..
Advantages of Large Aquariums
- Fishes get huge Space to swim
- Water wont get polluted more... when compared to small aquarium.
- Helps to Build A Community Aquarium(various species in one aquarium)
- More Space to keep Decoratives
- Increased Oxygen levels..
- Last but not least..it will be A Feast for Eyes.
Whats wrong with Small Aquariums?
- Need high level of Observation.
- Water can be polluted within no time.
- Oxygen levels will decrease within 48hours.
- Fish feel insecure.
- FIsh gets easily stressed... Since they dont have place to hide
- Fish may hurt themselves, by hitting to decoratives or filters.eetc..
- looks cute too eyes..But it is more like hell to the fishes..
What exactly is Considered to be Big Size/ Small Size for Aquarium?
Well it completely relies on the Growth of Fish..
I shall discuss about the fish growth in separate post...
But for instance.. One gallon one inch fish rule should be followed..
By this pretty rule..
A 10 gallon aquarium can accommodate 2 pairs of fishes..provided fishes growth is max 2 inches..
Does Shape of Aquarium Matters?
Yes of-course it Matters.
Fishes prefer to swim in lengthy aquarium rather than a Taller aquarium..
However....few species love to swim in deeper sections....for those kind of fishes...taller aquarium create enough depth...
